The proposal building is part of an academic researh in the field of Active-Bending Hybrid Structures. A modular space was pursue in order to extend it in a spatial array to construct large enclosures like roofs, domes, vaults and more complex macro shapes. Also this design allows easy assembly and transportation. This project is an example of a lightweight structure which keep a perfect equilibrium between tension and compression forces. Is a reciprocal system which is composed by a stressed fabric membrane and timber beams. Over the membrane is projected a quad grid that define the axial connection nodes and drive the timber weft. Over one of this directions the membrane is attached to the beams generating a language of undulations on the skin. It should be mentioned that each timber weft direction doesn’t touch to each other. The proposal materials for the building are PVC-coated polyester fabric, which is suitable for this kind of structures and timber.
